IBI-Mellie Webinar: Caregiving Leave in 2026

Webinar: Caregiving Leave in 2026: What Employers Reveal About Program Design, Talent Loss, and What Comes Next

📅 Tuesday, May 12, 2026 │ 11:30 AM ET │ ⏱️ 60 minutes, live Q&A included

Caregiving is reshaping workforce strategy, and most organizations are still underestimating the cost. Nearly 80% of employers now offer a custom caregiving leave program but more than half still report measurable talent loss from unmet caregiving needs.

New research from the Integrated Benefits Institute (IBI), sponsored by Mellie, surveyed HR decision-makers on how employers are actually designing, funding, and measuring caregiving leave programs. On May 12, we're bringing the research to life with a live panel, including an employer doing the work.

The panel:

Steve Shillitoe — Senior Director of Benefits, Ciena Leads the team that built and runs Ciena's paid caregiving leave program.

Sera-Leigh Ghouralal, PhD — Director of Research, Integrated Benefits Institute Led the study and will walk through the findings.

Julie Stone — Strategic Advisor, Client Experience Brings 30+ years of benefits consulting experience to the moderator seat.

What you'll take away:

  • The adoption, design, and wage replacement benchmarks from the full IBI study

  • An employer's firsthand perspective on building and running a caregiving leave program

  • The design choices that separate a program on paper from a program that works

  • Answers to your questions, live

All registrants receive: the full IBI report, a visual infographic, an interactive benchmarking dashboard (filterable by industry, company size, and revenue tier), and the webinar recording.
