In 2026, Mellie officially launched in Canada, marking an important milestone in our mission to support caregivers across North America. Our team traveled to Ottawa to kick off this expansion, and while the weather reminded us we were truly north of the border, the conversations we had reinforced why this moment matters.
Caregiving needs are evolving rapidly. Across eldercare, children with special needs, and serious or chronic health conditions, families are navigating increasing complexity with limited support. The demand for meaningful, expert-led caregiving guidance has never been greater.
Our expansion into Canada reflects what we continue to hear from employers and insurers across North America: employees are struggling, managers need support, and organizations are looking for real impact, not point solutions.
The Data Makes the Case Clear
The caregiving challenge in Canada is both significant and growing:
Canada’s population is aging faster than ever, with nearly one in four adults projected to be 65 or older by 2030.
More than eight million Canadians are caregivers today, and nearly half report that caregiving affects their work, wellbeing, and financial stability.
Employers are seeing the downstream effects in the form of increased absenteeism, retention challenges, and longer leave durations tied directly to caregiving pressures.
For employers, insurers, and benefits consultants, this reality represents both a challenge and an opportunity.
A Powerful Opportunity for Employers
Organizations that address caregiving proactively can support employees where the need is greatest while also strengthening productivity, retention, and workforce resilience. When caregiving support is personalized, expert-led, and integrated into the broader benefits ecosystem, it delivers value for employees and measurable impact for the business.
Mellie’s Approach
At Mellie, our mission remains unchanged as we expand into Canada:
Provide families with expert, one-on-one caregiving guidance
Connect employees to the right resources at the right time
Reduce stress, improve outcomes, and give people their time back
Help employers deliver real, measurable business impact
Our model combines experienced care coordinators located throughout Canada with an intuitive digital platform designed to simplify complex caregiving journeys. In Canada, we are proud to offer bilingual support in English and Canadian French through our care coordinators and our bilingual platform to meet families exactly where they are.
Just the Beginning
We are honored to bring Mellie’s caregiving solution to Canadian organizations and to support even more caregivers across North America. This expansion is just the beginning.
Here’s to building workplaces where no one has to navigate caregiving complexity alone and where employees can thrive both at work and at home.
